Thank you for commenting. I always appreciate your thoughts.

very cool - i love the colours. i wouldn't have minded a complete abstract with nothing in focus ... doubtless, you'd get a bunch of folks chiming in that they want something in focus if you did that but heck, can't please 'em all!

Catherine:
Yes, dreamy.... the spikes are rather frightening though and more in a nightmare!!

I do like image. Like the two spots to rest my eyes on. :toast:

Well done, Catherine. Different, but effective. The two sharp POFs among the rest of the abstract design work well.

I can see why you are pleased. I would be thrilled to have the vision and the ability to create this image. Plus ... I really like the haunting beauty of it.

The colours are gorgeous, Catherine, and I do think this focal point works well - maybe because there is a tailing off in depth via the other leading edges in the image. Beautifully composed.

Excellent, colorful abstract Catherine! Wonderful colors with some great pre-visualization of that focus point. Well done!

The colors are striking. But for me it is a little to abstract.

A real stunner, Catherine! Such powerful colors, too. It must have been quite difficult to get this handheld and in the wind.
This is a purely personal preference, but I would crop up from the bottom to just past the lower point of focus, in order to emphasize just the single in-focus tip in the bottom left corner.
Anyways, a wonderful image.

Catherine - Our plants with this kind of Dahlia did not come up this year - not feeling good about it. I really like this shallow DOF take here with just the right amount of focus area for the eyes to latch on to. The radiating petals and the colors all blend well to make this an interesting shot.

Interesting and challenging idea. I like the soft colors and shapes as well as the two sharp spots. I'm having mixed feelings about my overall response, but definitely want to spend more time viewing.

"At last I got the focus point I wanted ! Been trying for years" - I know what you mean Catherine. I've tried this type of abstract many times and just gave up.
I have an abstract right know I'd like to post, but not sure if it would pass muster..
Doesn't measure up to this with its repeating patterns, great blend of colors, and inherent symmetry that's most appealing.
Anyway, job very well done! :toast:
