Four Aces

I photographed this handsome quartet last spring. I like the light, the dark BG and the perch and of course the subject matter. One of my favorite birds.

Nikon D300s with 200-400 and TC 14 hand held
1/500 @ 5.6 ISO 640

Thanks for any commments and critique.

Excellent. Good angle and light, well handled exposure and good detail. It does need some CCW rotation.

Nice details and composition. I agree that it needs a bit of CCW rotation.

Nicely done.

I'm glad to see you have all your ducks in a row.

Robert,
Well done on these guys, they all look quite well feed. I agree with Phil on the rotation and you may want to clone out that fishing line in the center to improve the first impression of the shot. It is amazing how you got 4 different poses at once. :toast:

Nice group of wood ducks, perfectly spaced and posed. I really like the side light feel of this image.

The dark green water works beautifully with the coloration of the quartet. Excellent composition Robert. The fishing line isn't a serious issue for me, but removal is an option.

Love the variety of poses. What a great opportunity for a shot well taken.

Good on Phil and Mike for catching a couple of important details... easy to fix to make a great shot even better.
