Oh No

I was culling out images from last year and I found this one which I clipped the rear end of the Egret. It was sharp enough that just before I trashed it, I decided to see if I could make an image out of it. We this eating portrait is what I came up with.

7D with 500mm on tripod
AV mode
Exposure Comp at - 1/3
ISO 200
1/1600 at f / 7.1

Harry,
I'm glad you did not trash this one. Very nice portrait of the Egret and the little Cat Fish. The shadow on the water below is also a nice touch. Good Save . . . :toast:

Pretty neat shot, Harry. San Joaquin? I think I may know this bird. :toast:

Great timing in catching this at just the right second! I like the blue background in surrounding the fish.......really accents the details of the catch! Love it!

Good save! Definitely worth it. I like getting such a great look at the prey as well as predator.

I'm very glad you saved this one, Skip. The eye contact with both predator and prey is priceless. Excellent image. I also like the shadow on the water.

Nice capture of the behavior but I would crop tighter from the left and bottom.

Hey Skip,
Nice job of seeing something the second time around that you missed the first time around. Nice composition, good detail, and lunch to boot. Great job Skip. Hope you are doing well.
