Meteor

I packed up camp at 0330 and went out in hopes of getting a Perseid meteor. Eventually I saw this tree and rocks lit up by the light pollution from the town of 29 Palms. I set up and took picture after picture in hopes of catching a meteor. I thought I'd failed when the sun started to rise but found this one when I was reviewing later.
I missed it on the focus, though. I like it but am not sure if its worth showing (?).

It is worth showing. I wonder if a bit more contrast, particularly the sky, would add a bit more snap and help with the apparent slight soft appearance?

I don't know why this has not garnered more comments. It is a very powerful photo, focused or not. I mean among all those stationary dots of light, one has the courage to be different and streak across the sky taking all the attention.

Greg,

A pretty decent night sky/star image - the meteor is a definite bonus. And yeah, too bad about the JT being a little soft. I don't think it's an image killer though. I like the glow along the horizon too which makes for the nice silhouettes.
