Winter Berries

Winter Berries, January 16th 2012

This thorn bush, with berries, was growing through a crack in our back fence. You can see the reflection of the fence, in the water drop. I could not get over, how red the berries were, even in the middle of January.

Minor brightness and contrast adjustments. Saved for web, using PS script, found on NPN.

Panasonic DMC-TZ3
Focal Length 7mm
Shutter Speed 1/80 sec
Aperture f/4
ISO/Film 100

I was asked to post the camera settings, for my photos. I could not afford an expensive camera body and macro equipment, so I built an attachment for my camera, that included cardboard tubing and lots of duct tape. The above settings, may or may not make any sense since the attachment changes just about everything. :)

Well seen and photographed, Stephen. Technically, I think it's a refraction of the fence in the drop rather than a reflection, but I agree the refracted image is very large and sharp. I like the red berries against the white bg.
