I do like the straight into the camera composition of this photo. For me it works well. Also, I like the old dead tree the macaque is on. Thanks for sharing.

What a cool pose here Manjot! Although the shadow detail in the face region is good, ideally the face woul have been in the sun an become a stronger focal foint. The old log is a lovely feature, but the top left corner is a bit busy and distracting.

PS: I couldn't help noticing your below average post to comment ratio and would like to take the opportunity to invite you to contribute more to these forums by also commenting and providing constructive feedback on other people's work. Ultimately the success of all the galleries are determined largely by the comments members leave on the images that are posted.I know that this can be a little intimidating initially, but once you begin leaving comments I'll bet you're pleasantly surprised by how much you learn about photography through having to critique the work of others. Most new members end up finding it helps their shooting as much as having comments left on their own images. If you're unsure or uneasy about commenting/"critiquing" there are several good resources on this website discussing it. Start right here:

http://www.naturephotographers.net/naturephotos/wildlifephotography.html

and you'll find links to the image posting guidelines and two articles on critiquing ("The Art of Image Critique" and "More Thoughts on Photo Critique.").

I am generally not a fan of flash, but a little help from the built-in flash unit on the camera would have helped in this case, as I would like to see the eyes a little better.

I think you did a good job with what appears to be harsh lighting environment. My only wish would be for the branches in the upper left to be gone, but the pose is interesting and the stare is arresting.
