~~The Bow River and Castle Mountain of Alberta Canada~~

The Trans-Canadian Highway offers so many views of the Canadian Rockies it is hard to choose a favorite. This piece of rock rates at the top of my list.

A beautiful scene Rick and nice composition, however, it seems to need a bit more post processing IMHO. Overall it seems a little dull and lifeless. I might consider boosting both brightness and contrast a llittle bit to give it more "pop".

I agree with Bill. A very nice scene, well composed, but the presentation lacks a bit in impact. This is of course a matter of taste, but the light is a bit too dull and "normal" for such a scene. Some saturation, contrast and perhaps some vignetting can help to make it a bit more "attractive"

Rick,

Another nicely captured landscape from the Canadian Rockies. The exposure, color and saturation all look quite natural and pleasing. Sometimes I think we've become so used to image popping color and saturation that we no longer appreciate scenes as they naturally appear like this. But still, I agree with prior comments that this could use just a skosh of punch. I think it can be done without losing the natural look and feel too. Just my thought, but I think a faint Orton application, or the USM trick(high radius, low %) or even a simple s-curve in a Curves layer could pop with a little more contrast. But that of course is just personal choice.

This is a difficult place to get some stunning light. I tried several times for sunrises and sunsets when I stayed in a cabin near the base of this mountain with my family. No luck. Love the emerald colored water though.

I think Lon's suggestions are right one. A really gorgeous scene, nice comp, but needs just a little pop. I really like that contrast in color from water to sky!

I like the composition, but the light doesn't really do it for me. But then, I'm certainly guilty of liking lots of punch and warm light, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Castle Mountain looks like a great sunset location if the weather plays along, so there'll hopefully be a next time for you and that piece of rock.
