I watched this yellow-crowned night-heron catch three crayfish in about 20 minutes at White Rock lake in Dallas. Very interesting to observe and photograph him(or her)hunting.

Very nice. For some reason it looks a little soft in the small pict, but not in the large. It is a great photo, and I am glad to see more photos where we don't feel obligated to show the whole bird when we get a shot with prey in its mouth. Thanks for sharing.

Great sharpness where you want it in the LP Robert, good POV of the action.
Would love to own one of the heron with crayfish, it's on my wish list.
Well done & have a nice weekend:toast:

Great portrait of this dining heron. Wondering if you could pull some more detail from the white on its crest.

Good catch of the action. It would be nice if there was a bit more detail in the white on the herons head, but plenty of detail where it counts. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent sharpness on head and prey. Rest of bird is a little soft looking and I'm wondering about an even closer crop more of just the head, say to the end of the plumes? That's a pretty impressive crawdad! Sharon

Up close and personal. Interesting shot of the cycle of life here. Nice detail in the head and especially the eye.
