This one is from past July taken at "Aare Canyon" in the Bernese Oberland in switzerland. The "Aare" is one of the biggest rivers in switzerland. When I visited this canyon the last time, i was a kid. This must've been over 30 years ago. At this point the canyon is just a couple of meters wide. 6 single exposures manaully blended in photoshop for dynamic range.

Nikon D700, AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm f/4G ED VR @35 mm, Iso:200, 6 exposures, f13,polarizer

Just about to leave on a trip when I saw you pop up, glad I didn't miss it, very nice Bill, excellent light color and comp. I like this very much.

What a crazy place. Shadows look too recovered(blended) but surreal. Nice work sir.

This looks great Bill! The light could not be better I think, and the moss covered walls have an interesting texture. A very good "slot canyon" image!

A very interesting image Bill. All the green on the rocks is quite surreal. Great job with the blend and I like your layered comp and excellent detail. My only thought was to perhaps burn down the top right section of rock a little. Looks like an amazing place to explore.

Bill,

I think this is one terrific mind bender! And don't understand why it's not getting a bigger reaction. This is a hard one to figure out, which makes it engaging just trying to figure out which is forward, what's in front of what, etc. The light, especially at the bottom seems artificial - as if you're in one of those caves where they have it lit up for visitors. But that's not a bad thing per se, just another thing that I just can't figure out.

I love the color and light, especially in the upper 3/4 of the frame. In fact, I think a small crop off the bottom eliminating the brightest light and what appears to be the ground, would really increase the abstract nature this. I think this is fascinating!

Very interesting, like an abstract puzzle. I keep finding new lines to follow and new perspectives in this. Love the colors and textures. Wonderful image. Nice work

Great title and image, Bill... and very hard to figure out... I really enjoy the colours here, so different from the SW canyon images... what an interesting place

Pretty amazing collection of lines and colors. I think I see where the canyon goes. Great abstract image and wonderful blending.

Bill, I enjoy your image perceiving it as an abstract. There is a wonderful interplay of shapes and light for me.

I think the blown out highlights at the bottom might be an artifact due to jpeg compression and could easily be fixed. Thanks for sharing this most interesting image.

What a cool place Bill. This is really hard to get a grasp on. I really like the greens in this canyon that make it so different from most of these types of places we are used to in the Southwestern US.
