What a great way to start out the day. A beautiful bird on a great perch. Very nice details and pose.

Sweet Close-up Howard

great shot, love the pose and perch, maybe the shadow is a bit hard on the tail but still is it strong picture, summer tanager makes a big sense in summer but not in Colorado!!! :wavey: :toast: :wavey:

Gorgeous looking bird on a nice perch with a soft non-distracting background. Nicely done.

Pretty bird. Pretty bird. The shadow is a tad distracting but it is what it is, still a great capture. :toast:

A stunner, spoilt (can't think of a less harsh word, sorry!) by the dark shadow across the tail.

Well thanx for the "stunner" part anyway Ajit..
I'm not going to try and defend the shadow, but one can't always have perfect soft light..
And I do not use flash on my bird stills..
I see the birds beauty, not the shadow... It is what it is :wavey:

Howard, stunning color & beautiful composition. BG color is perfect as is the arched perch. Not easy to get good feather detail in this bright red as you have done! Shadow doesn't bother me.
