Excellent angle and dof, Barb. I like the angle of the butterfly in the frame.

You certainly got some nice butterfly images, with nice variety, from the butterfly tent, Barb. Nice comp and pose here with good detail in the BF and a nice clean bg. Well done.

Excellent details, lining up everything in perfect focus, as well as making a nice comp. (I've been away from this gallery too long, because I can't imagine what this insect was doing in a tent, but I'll take a look at your gallery to see if I can find out. )
Addendum: Well, I looked and I am still wondering. Do you of a neighbor raise captive butterflies in a large tent? Is it a hobby or some sort of commercial operation? What happens to the adults? Do they breed them in captivity? (Sorry if I am overly-curious. Maybe there is a web site about this somewhere?)

Great job getting the entire Lady sharp and capturing the irridescence in the body and wing bases.

Wayne, a butterfly tent (that's what I call it) is a butterfly exhibit that is in a large screen tent, instead of indoors like some butterfly exhibits. There are two of them that I know of here in Northern Illinois. One is at the zoo and there is one that just opened this year at the botanic gardens. I think they breed them in captivity because there is a window that you can look through and see the cocoons that haven't hatched yet. They are only open during the summer, so they might already be closed for this year.

Thanks Barb. Sounds like a great idea. I'll have to look around to see if there will be any around the Northeast next year. The only BF "zoos" I have heard of don't seem to make any effort to educate people about what's there (at least that's my impression from seeing photos from people who had no clue what they were shooting).

The tent seems to work very well, excellent exposure and natural colors Barb.
Great details and DOF, a well composed closeup frame too.
Have a great weekend & well done!
