Didnt get much for sunrise, so decided to make good use of the stormy clouds. So did a long exposure with the fast moving clouds. This is from Cape Royal at the North Rim.

Check out the LARGER version too.

Canon 5D II w/17-40mm
f/22
120sec(2 minutes)
ISO 50

Thanks for looking. All CC appreciated.

Well, I know what my next purchase will be gear wise. Your long exposure stuff is very well done and this is no exception. The detail and contrast here is perfect although I'd like to see that tree on the bottom right a bit brighter. For some reason, I want to see this as a 4:5 ratio with more foreground. Perhaps it's the almost 50/50 split, but just a personal preference there. Well crafted with the lemons we got this morning. Some pretty tasty lemonade was brewed then.

Well seen and I too would like a little more foreground and slightly darker sky. :toast:

With the gorgeous detail in the canyon, the split with and the blur of the clouds just doesn't work for me.

Lots of drama with the cloud movement adding to it nicely.

Overall I like this quite a bit. The long exposure works nicely for me...I'm a sucker for the technique. B&W works well too. The 50/50 split is the only thing that I'm not quite sold on. I'd probably go for a bit less sky, and perhaps experiment with a bit darker sky as well (as already suggested). This is nonetheless a very good and creative shot that I'd love to have in my own portfolio.
