Ruffled BCC

This chickadee kept poking at the pine cone in front of it. When I got home and viewed the image on my monitor, I noticed how it seemed the throat area was a mess!!

A Bearded BCC, lol?? Or probably just ruffled feathers from the hard cone??

Anyway, I wish the eyes were more visible, but I really enjoy the pine needles blurred, and the overall setting. Thanks for any C&C and info. D90, ISO-400, 1/500th, f-8.0, 500mm, Sigma 150-500mm, UV filter.

I love the colors and the light and the blurred pine needles and the setting. Looks to me like good sharpness and detail, too.

This is definitely a big step up in quality, Bill. There's finally some respectable detail in the plumage of the chickadee and everything else. Exposure looks good as well. I'd prefer less clutter and a better view of the face.

The mussed feathers most likely are the result of pine sap from the bird's feeding activity.

A nice one Bill. Looks like you are getting the hang of the new lens. Cute image. Thanks for sharing.

I hate it when I get pine sap on my feathers!

Neat image. I like the composition and the inclusion of habitat. The almost over the shoulder pose of the
bird is neat.
Nicely done.
