I came across these in a mud pond while in Nova Scotia last month. Always wanted one and don't see them around where I live. It's intimidating to post flora shots here among those of you who are so good at it. But I was pretty happy with this one. Your thoughts are appreciated!

Chris:
Beautiful image. I like the diagonal alignment of the two bloom with follow through of the yellow on the pads towards the LUC. Refreshing to have the drops on the blooms and on the pad. The decaying yellow/orange pad along the lower edge upset the diagonal yellow alignment and draws the eyes away from the blooms and I would be inclined to make it disappear. A very strong image just as it is.

I agree with Gary...the yellow pad is a bit distracting, but over all this is super nice! You exposed the whites beautifully and all the detail is enjoyable to look at.

Beautifully composed, Chris, with great lighting and colour tones. I don't mind too much the lower yellow leaf ( though I take Gary's point ) as the two flowers stand out so well.

I would be happy with this too. Like you, I have been wanting to find these and finally did this year. Your light ...diffused and cloudy, I assume, is perfect...though filtering works for these also. I like the droplets and pairing of the two. I like the black water and the lack of blown whites. Yes, ditto about that decayed pad...bring waders and get out there to snip and remove it next time. ...hmmm...well, maybe not. You did the best with what you had...good!

This has a very nice luminosity to it, Chris. Beautiful color and clarity as well. Ditto Gary on the crop.
