Garbage Lines

by Jimmy Gekas

Shot this at a surf spot called Garbage last week. We have had some cool colors in the sky lately. I love this stuff, but I am ready to hit up fall colors!

Nikon d800, 14-24, two shot blend for sky/color highlight control.

The foreground mosaic is wonderful Jimmy. The sky light and color are beautiful.

Nice comp Jimmy. Love the curving lines and shapes of the fg rocks and the way the clouds also curve. Great color too. I would perhaps lighten the bottom 1/3rd of the image just a little to bring out the rock details in the immediate fg. Lovely image.

Just how many great sunsets does this place get, Jimmy? You keep bringing them back from here. Nice use of lines in the comp, too. That lens, camera combo is putting out images with the best clarity going. I may be back from my Fall excursions before you get here, but there might be a bit of overlap. Hope to see you out there somewhere.

Wonderful foreground that contrasts so well with the soft pastels in the sky. Superb image.

Great color on impressive rock formations, and the lines work well in the composition.

Hey Jimmy,

Wonderful sky and a nicely balanced comp with the patterns in the foreground rock. I'm really liking the subtle color variations in the rock from the reflected colors in the sky. Hard to go wrong here!

This reminds me of a lot of mud crack images. Difference is this is rock I believe. Love all those criss-crossing lines and a great sky. A real winner Jimmy!
