WC-551 Winter Beach

Thought I'd throw this Canadian beach scene up for a bit of fun

Christmas 2011 was mild here, so I went to Jasper for a couple of days. The lake at Jasper Park Lodge was frozen solid enough for people to be ice-skating on it (not shown in this view), but it looks as if the folks there leave the lawn furniture out year-round.

I wish there had been a bit more snow, but still really liked the punch of colour against the monotones of winter, and accentuated that by desaturating the trees and foreground.

Well this is a different beach scene from the ordinary! Interesting photo with the colorful lawn chairs sitting out in snowy, cold weather. Maybe they leave them there for people to sit on to watch people ice-skating. Nice comp on this and I like your processing to make the scene monotone except for the colorful chairs.

The chairs make the perfect foil and add a great touch of color and your processing choice is right on target.

Really like the story told here and the panoramic format you've used to reveal it.

Well done, Karen.
I know exactly how those chairs feel. :)
