The Island

A view out to Cook Island from Fingal Head, New South Wales.

I'm still processing a back-log of photos from last year. This one was from a stormy winter's dawn, so I thought it suited a b&w treatment.

D80, 18-200 lens @20mm, f/11, 3 sec, ISO 100, single shot.

Many thanks for your thoughts.

Cheers.

The large image is great.
Love the comp and detail you captured.
Very nice!

This surly portrays the stormy feeling of the say. Well captured. I like the comp. and the contrast in the image. The large version is great. The far island gives balance and the designs in the rocks in the foreground keep the eye busy.

A lot to see here. You made an excellent choice of warm b/w. I wish there were a little more of the sky drama, but I like this as is.

Really dramatic and very cool shot David! :toast:

I'm wondering if the upper left corner might be a very slight touch to heavy (for balance)?

Very moody, and excellent choice for B&W. For my tastes, the ULC appears a little dark, but that's an easy fix. Nicely done.

Excellent comp and processing. The textures and light here are very appealing.
