Dungeness Dance

We were on the Olympic Pennisula earlier this month and one day we visited the Dunegeness National Wildlife Refuge which has the longest sand spit in the country. You can hike 5 miles out and visit the lighthouse at the end. Luckily, this pair of driftwood logs were at the beginning and they really intrigued me. This was the best I could do compositionally for this intimate landscape. So there are a few warts in there. It finally ocuurred to me what I liked about this and it was that it reminded me of a pair of western grebes doing their ritualized mating dance on the water. Comments and critiques encouraged and welcomed. Alternative impressions would be interesting too. Moderator: If you think this should go in M&N feel free to move it over. I'm sure the hand of man had some influence here.

Peter, I think you did a good job on the composition, and I'm a big fan of dead wood, so I also like that. It looks a little flat, probably because of the light, and I think a tad of sharping would help. Good eye in seeing the potential in this.
