Early Morning

Out before sunrise to check on the deer at the local nature reserve. A little early ground fog which soon left. This black-tailed buck was the first deer I came upon. Quietly feeding and letting me take photos. Similar to the buck I posted a few days ago but has a different facial pattern. Lots of other deer seen after this one but the bucks were scarce. This image has a few pieces of veg that intrude but nothing too serious. Comments and critiques welcomed and encouraged.

Peter, I like the detail on this buck. On my monitor it seems a little darkish, so you might experiment a little with opening up the exposure a bit, being careful to not blow the highlight whites.

Thanks for the feedback, Lon. I redid the image and added +0.5 stops of light and also added some temp into the color balance to warm it up a bit. Appreciate knowing if this is close to what you were thinking.

I was also going to suggest lightening the image a bit, but I see that you've done it. I like the repost much more. He looks a little apprehensive. Must know that hunting season is coming. :toast:
