Another Monarch on a butterfly bush from this summer. Black-eyed Susans in bg. Nikon D700, 180 macro, f8, 1/1250, iso 800. Larger image included for better viewing. Comments, questions, suggestions welcome. :wavey:

Nice sharpness at the eye/head and a pleasing blend of colors Scott.
I like this complimentary BG, and that dry seed hanging off the b-fly bush adds some good interest too..
Only minor nit's the tightness at the top & bottom.

Great colours and detail - seems quite tight to me on top and bottom. Easy to add some canvas, if you wished to.

The bg nicely complement the colors in the Monarch and the red perch provides contrast. Very sharp focus on the the eyes. Lovely images :toast:

Scott - They must be on their way back to warmer zones now. Overall not a great year for insects at least in WI this year.

Superb colors and the seed head is another area of interest.
