Dominican Sunset

This is a photograph of the sunset in Dominica as we drove down from the Syndicate National Park in the Rainforest. A quick storm had just passed creating the fog/mist rising. I only had the chance to ask the driver to briefly stop as I snapped photos from the window so it wasn't the ideal composition and I'm new to the landscape photography thing but this to me represents what I saw.

I double blended this image in CS5, once for highlights and once for shadows. I eliminated two cell towers on one of the peaks and removed some lens flare as well as performed noise reduction.

Nikon D300s 18-200mm VR @ 80mm HH
f/18
1/160s
ISO 800
+.67

Any comments or recommendations on I could have better handled the situation technically would be appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like you had a great time in the tropics. Congratulations, Luke on your marriage! I would lighten the dark areas a little to bring out some of the color. :toast:

scenery looks stunning, Luke. I really like the mist rising from the distant mountains
you have done well considering the setup imo... to bring more light into the fg area you will need a tripod + graduated nd filters or several exposures...

Wow, that's dramatic! I wouldn't change a thing, it's wonderfully mysterious.
