One of the recuperating injured pelicans at the Wildlife Rescue place I volunteer at.
I was struck by the feather textures and lines, and emphasized them by de-saturating the feathers to remove blood and mud stains

well, i like the composition and i agree with you about the texture even if it seems a bit soft in both the small and the large posts maybe and additional touch of sharpness could have helped.

Love the shot. The yellow pops. However, it is a bit soft. Great capture though.

Sandy,
This is a very compelling photograph and would be right at home in the Photo Art postings. The slight softness of the exposure adds to the sadness or maybe the pain that is expressed in the eye. Very good on this one. :toast:

A splendid image, Sandy. To see a bird close and calm like this, shows the flow of feather design so nicely. Like it as is.

I like the softness of the feathers and the white contrasting with the black background. I'd try and get the eye sharper however.

Sandy, you've got a nice image that is sharp enough for me. Lighting is quite complementary. My eye is drawn immediately to the birds eye. Beautiful bird!
