Antelope Island, from Ron Dudley's truck window. A bit strange to see Horned Larks from a vehicle; in Alaska, their breeding territory is 1,000 - 2,000 feet above the highest road levels. But I'm not complaining.

60% of full frame. Selective adjustments to Levels. Usual sharpening drill.

I love the light and subject Jim. Perch and BG are great too. As far as comp goes I might take some off the bottom, so a bit less rock is showing as the amount of rock is a bit much and weights down the comp a bit for me as posted. In the larger image the amount of fine detail in the bird is lacking a bit. I guess I was expecting a bit more given this is 60% of full frame. Overall a nice shot IMO.

I like the comp and the subject. It looks like your focus point was on the shoulder...head could be a bit sharper. The bg is nice and sets this off nicely. Sharon

Hey, I remember that bird Jim! I really like this background that we often get on those rocks and you got nice light on the lark.
