Lovely detail throughout!
Great colors and extremely interesting flower.
BG looks a little unreal, as if a poster or cloth

Thanks for the comments.
Just to clarify Sandy the BG is genuine, its the long subject to BG distance and what isa very low f number for me that has thrown it totally out of focus.
Many thanks

Such an interesting butterfly and flower, they compliment each other very well, Was anything in the BG? How did you get it so flat?

Hi Ian, welcome to NPN and the Macro & Close Up gallery. This is a very impressive first post. The pose, perch, perspective, and detail are all first-rate. Looking forward to seeing more of your obviously fine work.

Once again thanks for all the nice comments and the warm welcome.
A bit more info about the shot, the BG is a grass bank about 12ft away and the flower head is a Scabious.
Many thanks

Hi Ian and welcome to NPN! This is a terrific macro shot. Great comp on this and nice pose of the butterfly. Not only is the butterfly quite beautiful but the flower it is perched on is also quite interesting. Nice lighting, great details, and excellent background. Great job!
