White-eyed Vireo

Rockport, TX October 2012

D4 ISO 1600. 500/4 with 1.4 x tc. f 5.6 1/640s. Sitting near a water drip at the Connie Hagar Sanctuary. Natural foliage. Indirect light required the high ISO.

This is a first fall immature, so the iris is dark. Thanks to friends who helped to solve this for me.

The image quality on the vireo is just stunning. The pose is everything one could ask for. The background I guess might be slightly bright in places, but I'm so taken with the bird it hardly matters. On a side note, that D4 is a decent camera.

Exquisite detail on the bird! Nice pose and eye contact. The BG is bright and draws my eye - but a program like Viveza would dampen all the bright white areas (only) with one stroke. I think you'd be amazed - try the free trial.

Angala that D4 certainly works very well to produce a image of this quality ,the bg is a tad light but that bird more than makes up for it.

I think this is very good as posted. In the larger version I hardly notice the brightness of some of the foliage - only the bird grabs my eye.

Outstanding detail in the bird especially in the larger image. I do find the background a tad distracting but the detail in the bird more than makes up for that.

Very nice as posted. As mentioned even though the BG is just a bit bright and distracting, the bird really catches and holds your eye. :toast:
