I passed over this at first, but decided to process it the other day. Turns out, I like it! I think it's a good one to see how the D800 renders fine details. The warmth is coming from the fact that the rays of the morning sun are hitting the canopy just above the top of the frame here. I also have a 1.5sec exposure that I might process and see if that has a little more detail in the white water.

D800,
24-70,
3sec, F22
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Great clarity, I like that swirl of the back eddy

Glad you processed this. I usually don't like very long exposures of moving water, but that swirl -- and the fact that you can still see some detailed lines in the water here -- makes this work well. I'd like to see how that 1.5 sec. exposure works, too.

P.S. Odd that this looks exactly like lots of my local streams on this side of the continent (except I was not smart enough to catch an eddy like this).

Really like the warm color and detail in the shrubs along with the swirl, the colors look very natural, just what I would expect it
to be. I also like the rock on the right, would of like to see more of it in the scene, but I know there is a reason you didn't fit it in.
Nice one Chris, I like it.

The large version is very nice for the fine detail you mention. I love the land detail and view, love exploring all the nuances there. The water is somewhat troublesome for my tastes (strictly subjective, of course). I personally don't care for the super silky look and would encourage you to process the 1.5 sec. image you have for a more realistic version. I'm really impressed with the larger D800 images I've seen - have you enlarged and printed anything BIG yet? Wish I could afford one right now!

A lovely, intimate scene. Looks very quiet and peaceful, yet warm with the fall colors. The swirl in the eddy is a special addition.

I also like the swirl and the nice color along the far bank. The clarity in the large version is very good. Lovely little quiet scene.

Hey Chris, I love scenes like this, and this one is especially nice. Great color and amazing detail along with a very pleasing comp to me. I very much enjoy the feel of this image. Would be cool to see the 1.5 sec exposure too just for comparison. Nice work!

Quite nice, Chris. Foreground circle is a real plus for the comp.
