It's a little early for Halloween wishes, but this photo I took today seems to fit. I'm not sure the name of this spider, but it set up shop just outside my window. When I came back a few hours later, it was lunching on a grasshopper. It was about an inch long.

Canon 5d,M3, 100m macro, f/80, 1/200 sec, ISO 12800. Processed in Lr4.

Thanks in advance for any comments and critiques.

Perfect for the season, Kathy. Excellent view of this spider, and I like the good detail in the web. I am surprised by the techs. Was this taken in very low light? Was the spider moving? Why 1/200 and iso 12800? I will say this looks very good for iso 12800. :toast:

Hi Scott,
Yes, it was very low light and hand held with a macro, so I wanted the shutter speed to be somewhat high. The spider wasn't moving. I later processed this with a more black background, which I like better.

Great look at this spider and it's web. This is fine as presented, but I could also see just a bit more space between the legs and the top of the frame.

Great detail in the web and nice view of the spider. Also wouldn't have minded more space on the top and maybe a little less on the bottom
