Hooded Oriole

From a trip to CA this past June. This bird and its mate were flying back and forth to and from their nest. This was their favorite perch to land on before going into their nest. Unfortunately, the nest was not in a good location for getting shots.

Excellent, and a good example of an avian image with a shorter optic. Those yellows are difficult to deal with and you've pulled them off very nicely.

Very nice, Ron. Your exposure on a difficult subject couldn't be better and IQ is excellent. That black bill even stands out well against the dark background. Interesting dark perch and I like the way it slants through the frame. I guess I'd forgotten you even owned a 400 mm...
