Feeling green

Terrific Macro, John. Glad you included the larger version because it really shows off the intricate details of the leaf. This image has what I call the soft color illusion. I don't know if there is a "real" name for this illusion, but it happens when your camera captures a sharp image of a blurry object. In this case, you can see the sharpness of the intricate texture of the leaf, but there is a fuzzy gradation between the darker and lighter colors that gives the illusion that they are out of focus.

Excellent, John. I would clone the little encroaching leaf or whatever it is on the far left edge.

I like the combination of both large and small structures in this. I too find the bit of leaf on the left a distraction.
