Cullinan Park. Sugar Land, TX August 2012

D4 ISO 800. 500/4 with 1.4x tc. f5.6 1/320s. Handheld. Morning sun.

The lilly pads had a bluish tint all summer. Maybe this is the norm.

(This is slightly darker on the site than directly on my screen. I've never had this problem before. ??any ideas. I re"web-sized" it twice, but same thing. The web-sizes on my screen are ok-just not when I see it on site)

Like the fluffed-up look and low angle -- great eye

Great plumage and pose. Image on the blue side and would benefit from a warming filter.

Nice capture! Rarely see green herons here and I've never seen a juvenile. The only suggestion would be to isolate the bird, select inverse and adjust the color of the lily pads, then deselect. The heron's coloring seems fine.

Don't have the technical background to advise about the difference in the brightness.

Angela, I think the heron looks very good but the color of the setting looks strange to my eye. I'd prefer more room up top too, especially given the direction the bird is looking.

Lovely shot Angela! Love the water beads around the bird's feet. There is quite a strong blue cast which could be easily fixed,
Cheers Greg

A neat capture of this juvie Angela-I love the pose and the fact that he's 'walking' the lily. I think I'd try Patricia's suggestion to see if you could color correct the background.

You are really putting up some great images lately Angela, nice work. I like the angle, pose and detail here. Framed a little bit tight on top and bottom for my tastes. I'm ok with the color of the vegetation if that's how it looked in situ.

Oh. BTW. I did finally figure out my color/brightness problem. My hard drive crashed and when I reloaded everything I entered the wrong colorspace into CS6-which is fine until you print or try and download to the internet and then pow.
