This is a captive grey wolf at the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Foundation site near Guffey, CO. This facility provides a home for wolves that can no longer live in the wild. Great place, great cause.
Nikon D600, Nikon 70-200, 1/320 f4, ISO 220, hand held VR.

Hey Russ,

Wow, what a fascinating and eye-drawing combination of colours on this wolf. Wishing there was more room on top and that the ears weren't clipped, but overall it's the colour of the subject that draws me in...

Thanks Brad. This was a quick reflex shot trying to catch that yawn so it didn't get framed just like I wanted. But I just couldn't pass up that expression. The colors in their coat are incredibly varied. Although wolves are quite controversial, they are undeniably beautiful animals. I have great admiration for the work done at RMWF.
