Preparing for my next trip to Antarctica. This one is from last year, shot from a zodiac. Some of the icebergs were massive, like floating skyscrapers. Not something you want to get too close to, as large chunks break off regularly and cause massive waves.

The color of the ice is striking. This is a very powerful image. I like the way the clouds and the reflections pull the eye right to the iceberg.

I love the subdued colors always present in these types of shots. Must be something to see in person. Amazingly smooth given you were shooting from a small boat. Well done MO ! You put this one on 1x?

Spectacular - clarity in the ice is stunning. It really pops against the grey sky and water. Must be challenging to get a steady shot from the boat. The central placement works well for this comp. Really nice work. Enjoy your next trip down. :toast:

Fantastic in every way Marsel! As Richard said, very powerful! The contrast of light blue ice with those dark blue streaks set against the gray water and sky are really eye catching. I can only imagine how much of this is submerged and out of view! Kudos on a stellar image! :toast: :toast: :toast:

The moody dark clouds really help to set off the iceberg. The only thing I could see is maybe opening up the darkest part of the water at the bottom ever so slightly, minor really. Nice work.

I love how all of the lines converge on the iceberg and how it's the only color in the scene. This certainly makes it feel massive.

The soft blue in the ice contrasts really nicely with the somber sky. It's amazing how jewel-like even the large icebergs can look. Beautiful.

Wonderful contrast between black and white surroundings with the luminous blue of the berg.

The desaturated sky and water isolate themselves nicely from the blue ice. The direction of the clouds and waves creates a nice depth.

This is truly stunning Marsel. The ice and its reflection seem to be glowing. The ominous sky serves as a great backdrop.

Glacial and Polar ice has the most amazing blues in them, and you captured them here very well. The gray skies show them off well, too. I like the symmetrical comp with the lines in the water and sky all converging on the iceberg. The only nit would be to pull back the bright areas on the right side, but that's really being picky. :toast:

One awesome and powerful image. Set against that ominous gray sky, the iceberg seems to glow in all its icy presence. Incredible.

Very impressive scene. The dark sky against the blue ice gives this a very ominous feel that I like. Nicely done.

Gorgeous. The color/monochrome contrast is effective here, though it does seem a bit exaggerated.

this is a wonderfully moody image Marsel, I think it really amplifies the blues of the ice. Looking forward to more of your work from Antarctica.
