Great Blue Heron on the beach near Hudson, Florida

1/1600 at f8 and ISO 500
Canon 500mm with 1.4 tc
Canon 7D

This fish flipped away and its probably a good thing. A common cause of death for these birds is choking to death on a large meal.

Nice closeup action here. The waterdrops are a bonus. I am wondering if it could be just a tad lighter. A minor nit on an excellent capture. :toast:

Real nice image showing typical prey for these birds - nice big fish. I love the water droplets and how you can see both eyes... colors are nice too. Wish for more bird on the right and less nothing on the left but it's minor

Like this image. Great view of the fish (Hey maybe we need a fish gallery!!). Awesome detail and the water drip is a plus. I never cease to be amazed at the size of fish they actually get down.

Good as is, but it wouldn't hurt to selectively brighten the GBH and the sky BG. Select the fish, invert the selection and its yours to do.

Great shot. Love that the position of the fish makes it a major part of the image. The water drop is a real bonus. Agree with prior suggestion re.a bit lighter might help though it looks like you had harsh light/shadow and only so much one can do.

Perfect timing even down to the drops.
