Nikon D600, 150mm, F/20, 1.3sec, ISO 320. Tripod, mirror up, 5 second shutter delay.

I've always been fascinated by the form and color of leaves, especially Hosta leaves. This close-up with backlighting is an example of this masterwork of nature. please view larger version. Comments appreciated.

Interesting lines and pattern, Albert, and nice color from the backlighting. Very unusual study of this hosta leaf.

Very different and quite interesting, Albert! Way to think outside the box. Almost abstract in it's appearance. :toast:

Great composition which emphasizes the lines, textures and light. Wonderfully different! Would it work as a black & white?

Hi Albert,
Excellent photo. A great use of diagonal lines. I like the perfect choice of crop and very nice handling of the backlighting. Very well done. :toast:

Hi Albert, it is unusual indeed. You experimented with different styles. I like the backlighting.

Beautiful back-lighting, gives the entire image a nice soft glow. I like how that glow contrasts with the otherwise shriveled and forlorn looking leaf. Nice work

Very cool, Albert! I can't get hosta leave anymore, the deer eat them all! I like how the lighting is mostly up top with spots of color scattered in other places and the darker stem coming in from the corner.

Very abstract...looks like it could be part of a butterfly wing or something. Like the background lighting as well.
