Magnificent Milkweed

Nikon D600, 150mm, F/5.6, 1/60, ISO 200. tripod, mirror up and 5 sec. shutter delay

I find this milkweed to be beautifully structured, with the seeds in the pods and the floss vying for attention. this is the first of a Milkweed series, some of the others are done indoors, with better conditions and details....... Comments appreciated.

Exquisite image Albert. About the best of the seed pods for great photos and this is tops.

Albert:
Very interesting subject with all the intricate delicate structure compactly packed. YOu have captured the seeds in various stages of development. Beautifully done. If there is any nit, I wish for a little DOF to get the top pod sharp as well. Look forward to your series.

Excellent portrait of this milkweed, Albert. I agree with Gary about the lack of sharpness at the top, but the f5.6 rendered the bg about perfect, and I think this well done overall. I am also looking forward to your series.

Magnificent indeed. Great image of a wonderful subject. These seed pods were my favorite toy as a child, so this has a lot of emotional appeal for me. Beautiful details. Can't wait for more

Lovely shot, Albert. The larger version shows much more detail of the seeds. I can imagine the arrival of the wind… Can't wait to see your series.

This is great, Albert. I like all the different stages of pod openings that you've caught and how you've filled the frame. It could stand just a touch more space on the right, but that's a minor nit.
