Clingendael is a large park/estate in The Hague, not a real forest but still a nice place to secape the city.

Nice fall setting Ester,
The colors and lighting work well and I like the vertical composition that gives the canal a more infinite feel.

I love many things about this; the sharpness, the colors, the lines, and especially the reflections.
But what really ruins the viewing experience for me, and I'm just being honest here, is the frame. If you had used a simple fine black stroke, I probably would have an expansive feeling about it. But with this huge, uneven black frame with the thick black blocks on the sides, I have the feeling of being trapped and compressed, maybe to suffer the fate of trash in a trash compactor.
Perhaps you were trying to create the sense of a window, and seeing this image from a window would be fine. It would frame it and allow the mind to have a sense of expansiveness outside that window. But the problem I have is that this is clearly not a window; it is a frame. If it only had arches or was a different color or had bricks in the wall ... but it doesn't.
So as in so many of the images I see on this forum, the frame really detracts from my viewing enjoyment. It is something my mind has to consciously ignore in order to get at what you wanted to show me. And why should you place an impediment in front of that intention?
Anyway, one person's opinion :) Bottom line is that it is a stunningly lovely image.

Hi!
Thank you for your comments and insights, they are very helpfull. I just like to say that that is not a frame i put on the picture but a background that you can either have white or black in this website. I thought black would make the colors come out better. I never put a frame around my shots. This can be easily changed with one click
