A Season Of Giving
by Chris Chamberlain
That's what Yosemite Does, just gives and gives. I've never been there when I didn't recieve something I needed. Even if it wasn't a great image. I like this one, and had no real idea what I was going to do when I spied these young Alders from a distance. But once getting there, the leaves in the foreground kind of decided it for me.
This is for sure my favorite time of year. The fall color is peaking around the Sacramento Valley, and there is color everywhere. I can't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the blessings in my life, there are many! It's easy to think this when actually reflecting on it, but seems to be much more difficult to sustain when the "stuff" of life is happening, or getting in the way! This seems to be a big challenge for me these days. I'd like to say thanks to everyone here at NPN for another fun year. I'd also like to wish you all peace, love, and good will during this holiday season!

And, right back at you! Happy Thanksgiving for starters.
It's good to see you keep maturing as a photographer and artist, Chris. I always look forward to seeing your posts here.

have walked right by this.
Have a happy Thanksgiving.
Minor nit, I think the sat is just a tad strong, mostly in the middle grasses and not by much. Certainly well within reasonable choice in interpretation.
Not that this matters to your image at hand, but been having a discussion with Preston about these trees. There is a much taller tree in the middle of this grove which I believe is a cottonwood - which are what those leaves on the ground are. The little saplings in the back aren't alder, as I've come to learn. I believe they are some species of Willow. You'll see an image in coming weeks showing a closer look at one of these little trees and they definitely aren't alder. but that's neither here nor there for your image here, which is simply beautiful.
Great compliment from Stan and I concur.
And a Happy Thanksgiving to you, Pat and your family!

Lon, I was thinking the color might be a we bit strong myself. But, I figure that's something that helps in a print. I might take it down a tiny bit.
Stan, I think that kind of compliment is probably the nicest kind we hope to hear. Thanks a lot, I do really appreciate it. And thanks to Lon for concurring!
