Damp Doe
by Peter Cross
Out early this morning despite it being sort of drizzly. Had hopes that it might stop, so went to the local nature preserve to see what might be going on. The drizzle turned to light rain but I decided to venture forth anyway. Had to wait a bit for it to get light enough to photograph and put on one of those plastic rain sleeves over the lens and camera body. Must say that it worked great today. Don't know about heavier rain or all day, but ok for today. All I was seeing were does and fawns so I took a bunch of shots of them as they really are very pretty. This gal was bedded down in front of a patch of blackberries and was quite content just to stare back at me. She does look pretty damp but my guess she's warm and toasty under all that fur. Lots of sticks and twigs, etc. intruding into the image but that's just the way it is here. If I cloned out one then I'd have to do another, etc. So I decided just to leave them in as her head and face is pretty clear. Warmed this up just slightly and sharpened for the web. Comments and critiques welcomed and are appreciated.
