I finally made it to Yosemite for a quick tour of the park. I happened to be there for the first snowfall. I am still blown away by the overwhelming beauty. So, even though me and 4,000,000 people took a photo of this mountain of granite, I would love some feedback on what you all think.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Todd,

You did El Cap justice with this photo. Awesome conditions and the B&W treatment is perfect.

The only way I could see this improved—Oh heck! I can't see it improved. I just wish I could have been among the 4 million trying! This just blows my mind, it's so good!

Well, I'll venture to say that not all 4,000,000 got a picture this good. Very nice with the clouds and the framing of the foreground trees.

Unique perspective Todd, with really dramatic conditions. Nice B&W conversion as well! Love the large version!

First, great capture! I love this photo and you do the master A.A justice with it. I too want to make a trek to Yosemite and you were so blessed to capture the first snow! Excellent detail and the conversion to mono was on point. Win!

The conditions are quite dramatic and the rendering in bow is well done. I would say that perhaps some tonal separation in the darker areas would bring a touch more clarity to the image.

Todd,

Awesome! You certainly were able to experience the magic of Yosemite. One of the more dramatic features of this place is the constantly changing conditions of light and hanging clouds over the valley. As I'm sure you quickly found out, if the light and clouds aren't working - wait 2 min and it will all change.

This is just a great example of why one can never tire of a place that's been photographed a gazillion times. This image is right from the side of the road from a long turnout where literally a hundred people could be scattered about... YET, the drama and the sheer magic of nature can be captured... AND this exact moment will never, ever happen again.

Anyway, don't get me started... It's a magical place and you've done this one justice. Glad you were able to experience Yosemite like this.

Lon and everyone, thank you all for your feedback. I appreciate the positive support. It was a truly wonderful experience that I will cherish forever. I am glad that I could walk away with some images that captured a few moments of that amazing place. It was the kind of experience that drives me to plan the next outing. F8 and be there, right?

Many thanks,

Todd
