One more from White Sands NM a couple weeks back. This is late afternoon when there was some good low angle light on the dunes.

The textures are wonderful, and the zig-zag pattern of lines moves the eye through the scene nicely. Will have to add this to my list of places to visit when I move out west. I'm going to have to check our your new eBook as well, I've always had an interest in the weather and when I was a younger I wanted to be a meteorologist when I grew up. :wavey:

The texture of the sand is what attracted me to this image. Great use of light, shadow and form in this image.

I like the sand streaming off of the ridges, the shapes, light/shadows, different textures, and palette. Yeah, just about everything. :toast:

Stan,

Awesome! What a fabulous image of light and graphic design. I like the little bits of "glow" created on the ridge tops from the blowing sand. The patterns and contrasts in the sand are wonderful too.

Beautifully crafted and captured.

Very graphic and tactile. Light and shadows are nicely balanced and light is sweet. In particular, I like the hints of blowing sand along the ridges. Beautiful image

Masterful touch here. The whisps of blowing sand at the peak and trough is so tasty. Oh and the wind patterns. Stan you are the man.

Thoughtfully composed, Stan. I like the line variations from the FG to the BG.
Subtle tonal differences too. The diagonal line in the FG works well as does
the curvilinear line above it. The sand movement in the BG is a plus.

Stan, fantastic dunes abstract. I just love the cool colors, much different than the warmer tones of Sand Dunes National Park. An f22 focal blend?

Thanks Kane--yeah i used 3 exp at f/22--mainly to get a long enough exp for the blowing sand, but also if i shot wider at 100mm i probably would have needed a few more exposures and i wanted to minimize that.

A stunning abstract with an amazing three-dimensional character to me, Stan. I especially like the repetitive pattern of the ripples leading me into the depth of your image.
