Oaks in the Rain

This is a picture I made about a month ago on a rainy and foggy morning. I was driving down a backroad enjoying the conditions when I noticed these oak trees and liked the way they looked. I love the these kind of mornings. Thanks for looking!

Nick,

Beautifully seen and photographed. I think you have just the right amount of mist/rain to add a wonderful mood. Nice balance throughout the scene. And even though the main oak is pretty dominant, there is still a feeling of openness allowing us to see further in to image underneath the big oak. Well done.

The large version is a must on this one. I love the subtle differences in leaf color and the way the light catches them. The ones in the lr corner almost shimmer. Nice job.

I'm impressed with the "Larger Photo" version. Well composed with a nice contrast between
FG and BG.

Nice composition. Lots of detail but lots of form and strength in the oak as well.

Very nice indeed Nick, I'm with you with the rain and fog, it conveys that special mood that brings the scene to life, I like it. Well done.

Nick, you captured all the autumn colors here that I love so much. The image is well anchored by the trunk and branches, and the fog makes for a nice sense of depth to me. Certainly one of my top favorites from your work.

Man, wish we could get some of that round here--after 2 months w/o precip it is getting horribly brown around here! Gorgeous scene, Nick! :toast:

Wow! I wish our oaks put on a show like this. I like the compressed density of the color and detail.

Very nice, Nick! That color reminds me of the Bracken Ferns when they get into the late stages of color change. A very nice scene!

Beautiful! Love the amber color of oaks in autumn Nick. I also like the delicate detail and color in the lower portion of the scene.
