This is the 65ft tall Bailey's Falls in the Cherokee boundary of the Jamestown wilderness area, just outside of Batesville, AR. With 200ft tall cliffs surrounding, it is a beautifully magic place to get to be a part of..

Great exposure for the water Justin, wish there was color to provide interest outside the Falls.

Like the simplicity of the image, and the nice curve and textures of the flowing water. Looks like a beautiful place to revisit many times.

Great settings for the water Justin. I wonder what a B&W conversion would do?

Here's the b&w version Bob. This was my original intension on the image, but i really didn't like the lack of contrast..

Thoughts??

I like the color version best. The turquoise/green water at the base of the falls is a nice addition to an otherwise monochromatic image. Your capture on the water is great and I like the arc of the rocks.

My preference would be the B&W here as the color is so subtle it doesn't add that much. The tones come through well in the B&W and allow the falls to dominate as it should. Nice.

Justin,

Excellent capture of these falls. 65ft?? Very hard to tell the scale here - this really must be an impressive sight in person.

I'm really glad you posted the b&w version, I think I like that better. I think the contrast and tonal range is quite good with the b&w and in fact it makes me think that the color version is actually the flat one. The colors are nice, but as someone mentioned the color isn't really adding much, but the tonal range in the b&w does add quite a lot.

very minor, but it looks like there's a dark spec in the falls just below the half way point of the main falls; might want to clone that out for print.

Well done with this one.

This is very nice Justin. It is a great looking falls and I especially like it in the b/w version! I also think your comp worked out quite nice here. :toast:
