Thanks for the feedback on my previous image.

The eastern Sierra is a varied landscape where one moment you can be photographing a desert-like environment and the next autumn color or high alpine scenes.

So moving on now to a couple of photos of some of the autumn color I encountered in early October. I already posted this scene from the digital camera and was hesitant to repost this film version since they were so similar but in the development the film version took on a very different look that captured more of what I felt at the time I made this photo.

So please let me know what you think.

4x5, Nikkor 150mm, f45.3, 1/4 sec, Fuji Provia 100F, Developed in CS5, using TK Triple Play along with my usual adjustments.

Large version attached as well.

Wonderful display of color. I always marvel at how beautiful backlit fall leaves can be. You did an excellent job of capturing that feeling here. One thing that makes this image successful to me is that you managed to capture the backlit leaves with very little visible sky. Nicely done.

Beautiful warm light and glow. Wonderful scene, Youssef.

The triple play must have done an awesome job rescuing the shadows from this chrome. Good natural looking detail.

Gorgeous golden backlighting going on here Youssef! That bit of spotlighting on the middle ground makes a nice focal point. Beautiful image.

What buttery light! I think this would be best viewed printed large. Nice work.

This is absolutely beautiful, Youssef. I am completely amazed at the range of tones you achieved given the high contrast of this scene; the shadow detail is stunning. The whole image is stunning for that matter. Love that golden glow of the backlit leaves. Exquisite work.

Youssef,

This so reminds me of the image you captured at the Lundy Canyon trailhead a few years back. I'm guessing those conditions will always be in the back of your mind, prompting seeing this one? Well I can say that this one is wonderful too! The inner glow of the aspen forest is beautiful here. And you've done an excellent job with the exposure and processing. Well done!
