A World of Pink

Okay, the reflection is coming next, but here's a shot I got just before the last image I posted. This was taken facing almost the opposite direction as the last... BTW, I did not have much time to compose this, as the light was fading fast...

Really, the glow was incredible that evening. Saturation sliders were pulled back on this, especially after levels/curves adjustments, etc.

Thanks for the input on the last image!

Who needs a reflection with this light? I really like the color palette in this image. I also like the composition - it may be basically 50/50 but I think there is equal interest in the sky and foreground so for my tastes it works.

The colors are awesome. I love the sky. I may crop it slightly to change the 50/50 but that's a very minor tweak on a very nice composition.

Needless to say the color is gorgeous here Nathan. I like the diagonals in the sky and wishing for a little more of that in the foreground. Beautiful scene none-the-less.

A nice capture under changing conditions. I'll only add that I think the two stalks on the right extending above the horizon attract a little too much attention. But otherwise, a pleasing high plains composition.

Great light Nathan, and that stuff doesn't stick around nearly long enough. Good get.

Wonderful! This is beautiful to look at Nathan. I'm wishing I could just walk right in to this scene... Like your web processing too. Nice work!

Alright, so here's the crop, Nick. A lot of people have been saying that my images are composed in a 50/50 style. Any suggestions on how to break that habit? Thanks for viewing/commenting!

Just a great glow across the landscape from that wonderful sky. I would also like it to not be split 50/50, but I wouldn't want to give any sky or foreground away either, so I understand completely. Gorgeous shot.

This is gorgeous Nathan, love the soft glow and color, I really like this the way you presented it, not really a 55/50 crop, besides, it's very appealing.

Nathan,

Beautiful, soft colors - almost ethereal looking. I think the 50/50 comp works pretty well here - at least better than the previous image, IMHO. This must have been a sight to behold this evening. The only suggestion I have would be to drop the shadow values a tad in the brush; at least for me, where the shadows should be the deepest, it looks to opened up for me. But I guess that's a matter of opinion and preference too. just a thought. Beautiful light and color.

Lon---It was a sight to behold! About the shadows, perhaps I can rework that a bit. Off the top of my head, I actually darkened the shadows, both in levels and in the curves adjustment. I haven't opened anything up, and I'm sort of guessing that the lack of real deep shadows was caused by the glow? Anyways, I'll play around with it. Thanks for the comment!

Gorgeous light and I don't mind the 50/50 split if this case, as they say rules are made to be broken. The cropped version seems too tight to me, you have great sky, I want to see all of it!

this is some luscious soft lighting on that vegetation. I like that you have an interesting foreground, midground, and beautiful sky all together. :toast:

Nice glow on the landscape, I prefer the original post, even if it is 50/50

Man, you gotta love that warm light. The 50/50 split works for this desert landscape, but I prefer the repost with the small crop of the sky. Beautiful work, Nathan!
