During my trip to the Canadian Rockies this fall I ran into a small group of Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Rams while hiking in the beautiful alpine country after a snow storm had gone through the area the previous day.

Canon MarkIV, 24-105mm, f11, 1/800, ISO 400, pano-crop full frame horizontally

All your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated

Great sheep shot, Ken! It fits the theme pretty well and I like the sharp detail on the ram and enough detail in the background to show the wider habitat!

Wonderful shot, Ken! Very clean image with a great comp. It must be thrilling to be able to photograph such an amazing animal in the wild. Amazing setting too! Great lighting, colors, details in the sheep, and good eye contact. The orange spot between the curve of his horn I think I would clone out; it's a tiny bit distracting. Fine capture.

Terrific look at the ram, with just enough soft visual context to tell the story without being distracting. I presume the orange spot is a hiker trying to blend in with the environment.

Very nice Ken,
He looks relaxed and not too worried about you being there. I think that orange spot is just lichen on the rocks behind him. Excellent image!

Ken - I love the expression on this ram - it looks as if he's welcoming you to the ridge!

I agree with Guy, think that orange spot inside the curl is lichen on the rocks behind. It might be worth desaturating it just a touch.

The angle and composition you've used do a wonderful job of bringing the viewer right into the scene

Wish I had seen this sooner, Ken. What a scene. It's too bad those horns cast shadows on the face (something I've seen in other ram-scapes before), but at least the eye's in the light.
