Early winter snow just cold enough to be snow but pond retaining summer warmth and slush.

I like the comp here---simple and to the point. The group of three stand out nicely against the frozen pond...

Charlie, This looks great to me! I like your comp and enjoy the light. The large version is especially nice where one can see all the wonderful textures. Nice work!

Wonderful textures in snow and pond and great light. I like the nice, intimate composition.

This is neat, Charlie--the snow patches look like islands in a lake! Totally works for me!

The highly dimensional snow really stands out against the half frozen texture of the water. Looks like a metallic etching. Good work, Charlie.

Good eye Charlie. I especially like the slushy water, in fact at least to me with the subtle tonal changes I get the sense that there is a little undulation (best I could think of) in the slush. I just like the texture and the light reflecting too.

Very minor, but there are a couple of hot spots in the snow at the bottom where you might consider cloning in just a wee bit of texture. No biggie though.

Thanks all for taking the time to look this over. I should have mentioned it is from a few years back and I lost the data on this shot.

I have had that feeling that this looked like a shot from a plane of islands, Stan.

My somewhat limited recall is that this was a very still day and a small pond so the look of undulation may just be shadowing, Lon. I was aware of hot spots and worked to minimize them. Please never hold back telling me everything you see that is correctable. I've come to know that it is a help and not to be ignored. My benefit.

Wonderful textures Charlie. The snow covered rocks and bank looks like a smilely face.
