Eva,

I was tempted to suggest a more pano crop just to showcase the great sky, but then I opened the larger view. The texture and details in the sand are quite nice in this image. Just one of those moments where I can imagine just sitting there, bundled up in a warm jacket just watching the sun go down.

Only small nit would be the spit of land on the left. Not a big deal, but does attract the eye a little bit.

Nice one Eva. I really like the details, texture in the sand.

I like the gentle colors and the strong sense of wide open space. The foreground pool provides a nice balance to openness of the sky and sea. I too wondered about that bit of land, but the longer I look the better I like it.

Real pretty sunset scene. I might consider a little light clone to cover up the blown spot in the sky (see the top of the Calif. forum for a description of the technique if it is not familiar). I am with Lon about the spit of land as well. Neither is a big deal. Nicely done.

Here is a repost where I cloned out the spit of land on the left. I also applied Harley's clone of hot spots in the area of the sun but did not go too far since I like how the white area illustrates the strength of the setting sun.

As always, Eva your composition is stunning and I love the textures in the sand, especially in the larger size image. I especially like the standing water in the foreground and the lit areas of sand.

Eva, your composition with the calm pool in the foreground immediately draws me into the scene. Allt he delightful shapes and textures in the sand keep me exploring the image. Wonderful technique, medium format and Velvia at its best in my opinion.

Eva,

Thanks for making the changes - subtle and small, but I think made a big difference. The repost is just cleaner and more enjoyable. The little work around the sun works too. Good work!

It's amazing how little things like the spit of land you removed can change an image. The repost is wonderfully expansive and expressive without it. Very nice. In particular, I like the way the light skips across the water and the great textures in the beach sand.
