Beautiful - a great entry. Plane of focus is tough in these situation, but I do wish both heads were as sharp as the upper one.
I had one like this I was going to post, but this is far better !

Excellent!

Charlie - I'm guessing you have this sitting on a mirror - love the concept, well executed. The lighting is wonderful and the black BG sets off the seed head perfectly!

This was shot on a mirror and to tell the truth I never even considered trying to get the reflection in focus. Unless the mirror is terrible distorted It should be doable.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

Love the mirror effect, Charlie, and that one about to escape seed is a nice bonus.

Funny thing, Mark. I was POed that the seed head came apart as I wanted this near perfect clump to shoot as complete. Now I like the separated seed as it worked out. [g]

Fantastic image, Charlie! Love the great detail visible in this and the escaping seed adds a real interesting touch. The black background sets this all off beautifully. Great concept to showcase this with a mirror image; I do wish the mirror image was also in focus though.

Really fine image, Charlie. So much to like about this: the focal contrast between the seedhead and its reflection, the fine detail that is retained in both parts, and the pop of color that is a nice bonus.
