This is another shot from the BNSF railroad depot in Hettinger, ND. For this shot I used a c.1942 Leica IIIc with c.1948 Summaron 35mm lens. I love taking photos at night as they seem to have some mystery to them. With a night shot, darkness predominates and it is light that gives the accents. This is the reverse of a day shot. Here, I liked the near silhoutte of the massive engine juxtaposed against the white, well lit little depot. The depot seems like an inviting little place while the engine seems to be dark & brooding. I like the contrast between the two. The little Leica is proving to be a very fun camera to use! B&W conversion by Ilford HP5.

Can I see the color version??  Cool image, Kent. My favorite parts are the dual 4778's, along with the sense of mystery of what is behind the engine in the dark. I might burn down the bit of the building coming in on the left?
