He's *kinda* fluffy, right?
I was so happy to see some Waved Albatross on my trip to the Galapagos, because very cooincidentally, just days before I left, I met a woman who had just returned the day before. What are the odds, right?! Well, she was "sorry to inform me" that all the Waved Albatross who go to the Galapagos to breed had ALL flown away that very week, and I wasn't going to see even a *single* bird. Albatross are very high on my list of favorite birds, so I was kind of crushed. Lo and behold, though, there were a few stragglers. We probably saw about 30 or so adults with chicks who were not ready to fledge. Thank goodness for late bloomers!
